Looking for Something?

September 02, 2013

In the today’s world of growing markets and stiff competition in just about any industry, there isn’t a business, large or small, that would mind some increased exposure. After all, the more people know about you, the more likely you are to form an adequate and consistent client base.

There are different ways for your business to advertise, not all of them requiring heaps of money or expert marketing teams. Some of those ways include handing out coupons, organizing in-store events, advertising online and email marketing, however, promotional products are still one of the most effective and budget friendly ways to increase the exposure of your business.

These products are a great way to ensure brand recognition and make you completely distinct from the other businesses in your niche. Promotional products serve as a great base for your company’s logo and information, not only because of the fact that handing them out seems more personal than just giving someone your business card, but also because of the fact that, if you choose your product well, the person who received it will be able to use it often, and that way always have your company’s colors in sight.

Another of their advantages is that they allow you to reach a wide audience at a very reasonable cost. Promotional products usually come on relatively cheap items that still make a rather nice gift, especially for someone who was not expecting to get anything. Joining one of the trade associations gives you access to lists of reliable and cheap suppliers and enables you to negotiate favorable payment terms. A number of businesses buy their products with a one month delay in payment, which is a great way to see some return on the investment, even before you actually invest. By mass ordering these items, you are able to reach a number of people and even build customer loyalty, all at a very low expense.

One way to look at promotional products is to consider them an extension, or sometimes even a replacement for your business card. When you think about it, supplementing your business card with a gift of this type is not only a great way to show that you care about the customer, but also to show that you are willing to go the extra mile. And again, while your business card may soon be forgotten in someone’s wallet or drawer, there is a chance that the person in question will actually be using your gift and be constantly reminded of your company. Additionally, they may even pass your gift along, bringing you another potential customer.

This is why carefully choosing the product that you’ll imprint your information on can be critical to the success of your campaign. Try and pick something relevant to your business that people may find useful. For instance, a computer company may choose to hand out USB drives to their customers, or anything along that lines. If you choose your product with care and stick to this strategy, results are sure to follow.
